Hargate Hall is a great venue for couples who are looking for somewhere a wee bit different to have their wedding.
Hargate Hall is not a hotel. When you decide to have your wedding there, it becomes your house for the weekend, where you can get married and then celebrate with your friends and family. Owners, Anthony and Julie Knox provide the wedding venue and accommodation and then with their help and advice on catering and entertainment – “you make your own dream a reality.”

‘One of the hundred best wedding venues in the world’
Brides Magazine
I think I’d have to agree with Brides Magazine, as in terms of wedding photography, Stubton Hall in Nottinghamshire is one of my favourite Venues. When you have your wedding at Stubton Hall, you get the whole place exclusively to yourself and your guests; and because there are never two events on at the same time, you have the freedom to use all of the rooms and the whole of the beautiful grounds for your photographs.
Because the grounds are so large, there are plenty spots to choose from to have your wedding photographs taken, and a large terrace which leads down to a grassy area and a 300 foot water feature. I love photographing Weddings at Stubton Hall because there are lots of little nooks and crannies to hide in, so that you and your guests don’t even realise they are being photographed! This reportage style of wedding photography suits those of us who are a bit camera shy or who don’t want to have the flow of their day interrupted by having to pose for more formal photos.
Thanks to the enormous windows, the light indoors is amazing, making it an ideal venue for creative documentary style photographs, and each room is beautifully decorated, so even if it does rain, there are plenty of lovely backdrops if you want some group shots too.
